The Definition of PE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The term \u2018PE\u2019 in the building construction industry stands for professional engineer. It is applicable to licensed engineers working in all fields involved in creating, maintaining, and using the buildings, machinery, and other items that are a part of daily life and industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any individual that engages in prescribed branches of professional engineering work in Singapore is required to have a practicing certificate. Alternatively, they are required to be working under the direction of the supervision of a registered professional engineer who possesses one. This also applies to individuals working as a sole proprietor or a partner in an official, licensed partnership with a fellow professional. This all comes into effect under the PE Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Professional Engineers Act<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Act <\/a>to establish the Professional Engineers Board, to provide for the registration of professional engineers, to regulate the qualifications and conduct of professional engineers and to regulate corporations, partnerships and limited liability partnerships which supply professional engineering services in Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
